Exuma Water Sports is owned & operated by the Lightbourns – a Bahamian family in the Bahamas since 1735. Raymond (Ray) Lightbourn learned to waterski, surf, spearfish and drive boats as a young boy in the Exumas, Harbour Island and Nassau. In 1978 he opened a waterski business on Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas. By 1981 the business expanded to parasailing and became Paradise Parasail Ltd. The company grew and became a full fledged water sports operation with parasailing, jet ski, sailboat, windsurfer rentals and instruction, snorkeling and sightseeing tours and excursions to the Exuma Cays. Justin seen here in the photo started really early! In 2006 Ray and his son Justin who was practically born on a reef, launched Exuma Water Sports. Over the years, they have taken out a wide variety of celebrities. Some of our favourites were Taylor Swift, super model Irina Shayk, Allan Thicke, Nascar Ryan Newman, Muhammed Ali, Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick Ewing, the Globe Trotters, Dave Winfield, Mike Tyson, the Royal Family of Quatar, the 2010 Miss Universe contestants, the Portuguese National Football Team, Canadian Gold Medalist – Jon Montgomery, Motley Crue, and hip-hop-metal band “Dope”. Exuma Water Sports has also been featured on NBC Extra, the Today Show, City TV Breakfast Television, The Big Break, The Bachelor UK, Miss Universe 2010, and numerous Bahamas Ministry of Tourism projects.
