1735

Bahamian family

Exuma Water Sports is owned & operated by the Lightbourns – a Bahamian family who have been in the Bahamas since 1735. Raymond (Ray) Lightbourn learnt to waterski, surf, spearfish and drive boats as a young boy in the Exumas, Harbour Island and Nassau and has never looked back.

1978

Water ski business

In 1978 he opened a water ski business on Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas. This was just the beginning of bigger things to come.

1981

Paradise Parasail Ltd

By 1981 what began as a humble venture quickly flourished into a thriving enterprise Paradise Parasail Ltd offered a spectrum of exhilarating water sports activities. Ray's foresight and passion transformed his operation into a comprehensive hub for aquatic adventures, featuring not only parasailing but also sailboat rentals, windsurfing lessons, snorkeling expeditions, and captivating sightseeing tours to the breathtaking Exuma Cays.

2006

Exuma Water Sports

In 2006 Ray and his son Justin, (who was practically born on a reef), launched Exuma Water Sports. Over the years, they have taken out a wide variety of guests including Royal families and many celebrities. We have grown into one of the most famous boat tour companies in The Bahamas, featured on many TV stations and mostly due to our wonderful wild swimming pigs that we feed and care for every day. These families of wild pigs have fascinated the world with their swimming antics. You can see many pictures on our instagram page.
